reed diffuser-Top Tips for Using a Reed Diffuser

Top Tips for Using a Reed Diffuser

 July 8, 2019

A reed diffuser is the perfect, practical solution for home fragrance for many reasons. By soaking up the fragrance oil through the reeds and dispersing the scent into the air, you don’t have to keep an eye on them like you do a candle.

Some useful tips for using a reed diffuser: Reed Diffuser Location

To get the most out of your reed diffuser fragrance, we would recommend placing it in a hallway or an entrance to a room. The air circulation created by daily traffic will help disperse the aroma so you will pick up the scent every time you enter and leave the room or walk through the hallway. Make sure it is out of reach of children though, and do not place it near windows or radiators as the heat will evaporate your fragrance oil.

A Fuller Fragrance

If you would like a stronger fragrance, you should add all the reeds and flip them more frequently. The more reeds you use, the more channels the fragrance can be dispersed through! By flipping your reeds every other day or week, the oil will lift up again giving you a fresher, fuller fragrance. Remember, when you flip your reeds to do it over a sink in case the oil drips and that by flipping them more often will make your oil run out quicker. Alternatively, if you would prefer a more subtle fragrance, then use less reeds.

Changing Oil and Reeds

When you need to refill your oil, it is better to completely clean out the vessel and let it dry before filling it back up again. Also, when you change your oil, you should change your reeds too – especially if you are changing the fragrance. With a fresh vessel and unclogged reeds, your diffuser will smell better than ever.

Other Reed Diffuser Tips

Always make sure that you keep your reed diffuser on a coaster or mat so there is no risk of oil damaging any furniture or fabrics. Also, if you are going away for a bit, flip your reeds before you go so you can come back to a lovely, fresh smelling home.
