From October to December, fresh cranberries are available in supermarkets and grocery stores-this is a very short season! Reserve fresh cranberries in the fall. Freeze them in the bag they came in and they can be stored for up to 12 months.
Cranberries are a good source of various vitamins and antioxidants. Just as nutritious and delicious as cranberries, we can use cheap fresh cranberries in a variety of ways to make the holiday even better! Here are some ideas.
Start with some styrofoam balls, any size. Cut a bunch of wooden toothpicks in half. Insert the pick into the ball so that it protrudes approximately 1/2 inch. Push the cranberry onto the toothpick until it touches the foam ball. Repeat until the ball is covered, placing the cranberries close enough so that the white ball is not exposed. Place cranberry balls on candlesticks of different heights, or pile them into a large bowl.
Follow the same instructions above to cover the front of the wreath shape. Add a beautiful bow and voila! For just a few dollars, you will have a gorgeous decoration.
In a medium bowl, stir together 2 tablespoons of water and 1 tablespoon of pasteurized protein powder (or 1 raw egg white) until combined but not whipped. Coat dried raw cranberries with this mixture. Spread granulated sugar on a baking sheet, then roll the wet cranberries into it until they are covered. Dry at room temperature for 2 hours. Used as a decoration for desserts. The sugared cranberries almost sparkle; they are so beautiful.
Pour fresh raw cranberries into a transparent glass vase. add water. Now, add a simple flower arrangement. The red berries in the water are amazing. The life span of berries is longer than that of flowers, so there is no need to worry about their deterioration.
Or, you don’t have to add water or even flowers. The transparent glass vase partially filled with red cranberries adds a beautiful decorative touch to any environment.
Partially fill the clear glass bowl with water. Add fresh cranberries (they will float) and floating candles to make beautiful, colorful and simple holiday decorations.
Wash the cranberries. Pass waxed dental floss through a large sewing needle. Pass the needle through the cranberry twice, fix the first cranberry to the dental floss, and then tie a knot on the dental floss. Continue to wear cranberries until you reach the length required to decorate the mantel, Christmas tree, or railing.
Or, create a pattern on the cranberry wreath by adding pure white popcorn, which is five berries and three popcorn slices. Repeat your pattern selection over and over again until the wreath reaches the length you want. This is so interesting. Children love it, and even toddlers can participate in making patterns and “check” to make sure the person who threaded the string is doing the right thing.
