Dollar tree recall: Sure Scents offering candles recalled due to burn risk

Small votive candles sold only in Dollar Tree stores are being recalled because they pose a fire and burn hazard.
According to the recall notice posted on the Consumer Product Safety Commission website, 142,740 Sure Scents 2-1 Peaceful Stream/Moonlit Waves candles are part of the recall, and consumers should stop using these candles immediately.
The notice said: “The high flame of the candle will ignite the surface of the wax or cause the glass to rupture, creating a fire and burn hazard.” The notice said, noting that there were no reports of injuries, but “two reports said that the flame height exceeded the glass, resulting in The glass broke.”

The notice stated that Adco Trading Inc. of Missouri, Texas, imported these candles, which are approximately 2 1/2 inches tall and have glass wishing sheets with powder blue wax. From July 2020 to September 2020, they are sold at Dollar Tree stores nationwide for $1.

Dollar Tree stated in its recall FAQ on its website that consumers can return recalled products in stores for a refund or exchange, and no receipt or original packaging is required.
